Departmental Overview Compensation $33.87-$55.31/hr. based on previous work experience. Assist with instruction of skills labs for the OU College of nursing. Coordinate Clinical rotation days for OU College of nursing students and lead a clinical rotation. Facilitate simulation for OU College of nursing students. Support NRHS Nurse Residency and Nurse Extern Program by being a content expert or facilitator when necessary. Understand the use and operation of different simulator technologies ranging from anatomic models and task trainers to screen-based simulations to full body patient simulators. Develop technical proficiency with all aspects of the operation, conduct routine equipment maintenance, support, troubleshooting, repair and replacement needs according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. Update inventory and initiate equipment purchases. Install software and hardware upgrades and maintain functionality of manikin components as directed by manufacturer support. Oversee the scheduling, check in/out of equipment, simulators and the simulation lab space. Ensure staff utilizing the Simulators, equipment or space are appropriately oriented to the space and/or equipment prior to use. Maintain proficiency Simulation Best practice standards and emerging technologies, including basic theory, design and implementation and communicate any updates or changes to the simulation council as an active member. Qualifications Education BSN required; Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing Education, or related field required; Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator Preferred or Obtained within 1 year of hire; Academic Experience Preferred . Experience Three or more years of medical surgical, intensive care, or specialty nursing experience in an acute care setting required. Instructional teaching experience required. (Above requirements can be met by the equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure/Certification/Registration/Etc. Current RN licensure in the state of Oklahoma. BLS Certified required. Proficient in computer programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Publisher. Experience with HealthStream and Meditech preferred .
