A Brief Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients' health through the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervising assigned team members.
What you will doConducts an individualized patient assessment, prioritizing the data collection based on the patient’s immediate condition or needs within timeframe specified by policy along with collaboration with other members of the healthcare team. Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice. Performs appropriate treatments and administrations of medication, immediate and ongoing, as ordered by provider in an accurate and timely manner. Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and delivery of care with appropriate age and cultural competence as established by individualized needs/plan of care for the patient and their family. Provides individualized patient/family education customized to the patient and his/her family. Documents patient condition, assessment findings, and physical/psychosocial responses to nursing intervention and progress towards problem resolution. Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to adult resuscitation and advanced life support protocols. Maintains confidentiality as well as providing care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to the patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity and rights. Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to providers and other staff during shift change.
Education QualificationsAssociate's Degree in Nursing (ADN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Preferred Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN). Degree received from an education institution accredited by National League of Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Preferred
Experience Qualifications Previous experience in an acute care setting Preferred
Skills and AbilitiesWorks with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers. Must be proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EMR) for patient-level care and coordination. Must possess excellent verbal communication skills. Must have ability to collaborate with others to improve quality and address needs.
Licenses and CertificationsRegistered Nurse in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing. Required Basic Life Support Certified is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified Preferred
