How you make a difference
The RN Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff to ensure patient care needs are met. They will review staffing at shift changes, assign or replace staff as necessary, and conduct patient care rounds to ensure quality care. Additionally, they will coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring proper documentation and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide daily sick call as needed and collaborate with physicians for conditions outside standardized procedures.
• Coordinate daily scheduling with custody staff to ensure patient access to care.
• Respond to emergency calls, supervise RNs/LVNs on duty, and attend staff meetings.
• Manage inventory and order supplies, perform Quality Assurance audits, and assist in training new employees.
• Conduct performance evaluations and oversee training of direct reports.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Graduation from an accredited school of nursingExperience
Three (3) years of experience in medical practice at a correctional facility after obtaining credentialsPrevious correctional/detention facility experienceLicenses/Certifications
Current (and must maintain) unrestricted Registered Nursing license, certification or registration in State of employmentCurrent (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS certification through AHAAdditional Details $7,500 bonus available for full time.
