Registered Nurse (RN) Trauma Registrar

Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Trauma Registrar to join the team. This role will be full-time dayshift, Monday – Friday; flexible start/end times - 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Registered Nurse (RN) Trauma Registrar Job Responsibilities:

Maintains the structure and integrity of all data by performing regular quality checks as delineated in the Registry Quality Control Plan. Conducts maintenance on the database as needed. Ensures compliance with HIPAA and all regulatory requirements related to the trauma registry such as confidentiality, security, reporting requirements, etc. Participates in the development, maintenance and update of the data dictionary for the trauma registry. Ensures availability of trauma registry data for timely reports to state and other entities through chart closure. Maintains concurrent data collection, entry and review according to department guidelines/policies and creates queries. Develops and compiles standard and customized reports. Utilizes various databases to facilitate database administration and management. Organizes, manages, coordinates, and develops registry functions. Assists in auditing data for accurate interpretation of registry elements. Assists in training others to perform TQIP registry functions. Develops, writes, and maintains manuals in collaboration with other trauma registrars for using and maintaining registry fields. Analyzes, prepares and presents data for trauma performance improvement activities. Participates in injury prevention and trauma medical research. May perform other duties as assigned.

Registered Nurse (RN) Trauma Registrar Additional Requirements:

Work schedule: full-time dayshift, Monday – Friday; flexible start/end times - 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree) Experience: 2 years of clinical experience; clinical experience with trauma patients; computer software training Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia upon hire

Registered Nurse (RN) Trauma Registrar Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience: 3 years of bedside nursing; experience in trauma, critical care, ED, or similar.
