Sentara Albemarle Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for the 2-South Medical/Surgical Unit. As a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator with Sentara, you can excel in your career. Full-Time, Day Shift

18 months nursing experience required. BSN required

This M/S unit is a 24-bed unit with adult, geriatric, adolescent patient population. Medical or GYN overflow patients are cared for on this Medical/Surgical Unit. The variety of cases seen include abdominal, endoscopic, ENT, general, gynecologic, ophthalmic, orthopedic, thoracic, urologic, vascular, and plastic surgeries. Medical patients are admitted with CHF, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, atrial fib and chest pain.

Demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service. 18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty. Behavioral Health - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Emergency Care - de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire. BLS required within 90 days of hire.
