Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor - Emergency

Inova Mt Vernon Hospital is seeking an RN Unit Supervisor to join our Emergency Dept. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses.

Full-Time, Mid shift. During orientation will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights).

Emergency Room Nurse Supervisor Responsibilities:

Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit, Embraces; uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibility. Ensures that care is patient-centered Continually pursues activities that will ensure smooth clinical operations/flow and compliance with Inova's goals of providing safe, equitable, patient-centered, timely, efficient and effective care in a holistic and evidence-based practice environment. Emergency Room Nurse Supervisor Requirements: 

Experience: Requires a minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience  Strongly prefer candidates with 2 years plus of ED RN experience. Charge or Supervisory experience a huge plus  Education: BSN or Associate Degree RNs that are within one year of completing their BSN  Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 days of employment  License: Must be RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as an RN. Certification: BLS from American Heart Association required upon start  Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year of hire. Strongly prefer current ACLS and PALS  Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention. Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations. Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required. Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization; can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.
