Inova Alexandria hospital is looking for an experienced Perianesthesia (PACU) Nurse to support our unit as a mid-shift Unit Supervisor. Inova’s Perianesthesia RNs work pre and post op; Phase 1 and 2. This is a Full Time (4x10 hour shifts) to cover hours from 12.00p-10.30p.

The OR is equipped with 11 surgical suites. Comprehensive range of surgical specialties to include, orthopedics-total joints, sports medicine, spine, General Surgery, ENT, gynecology, urology, plastics, vascular, neurosurgery, podiatry, and maxillofacial.
Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front-line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit.
Embraces, uses, and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering "Service Always" and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility. Provides genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities.We have great benefits!

One year of nursing experience is required PACU experience is highly desired Leadership experience is highly desired Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, or ADN within one year of BSN completion RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization Serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit
