Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor- Postpartum

Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a full-time Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor for the postpartum unit! 

This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.

The Inova Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor: 

Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit; embraces, uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes. 

Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibility. Seeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve-every time, every touch. Ensures that care is patient-centered. 

Continually pursues activities that will ensure smooth clinical operations/flow and compliance with Inova's goals of providing safe, equitable, patient-centered, timely, efficient and effective care in a holistic and evidence-based practice environment. Values and promotes collegial working relationships within and among disciplines.

Required Experience:  At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.  

 

General Requirements: 

Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills  Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others  Values team collaboration  Proficient computer skills required 

  

Minimum Education Requirement:  

BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. 

 

Minimum Licensure/ Certification Requirement: 

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).  Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start  Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire.  Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days of employment
