ACLD has an exceptional full time opportunity for an experienced human services professional looking to start/continue a career in adult education. In the Registered Nurse Trainer role, you will be responsible for training Adult Services staff in Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP) curriculum. Also provide nursing consultation and training at ACLD, as needed.
Implement NY State AMAP initial certification and annual recertification courses with staff working in Adult Services programs, including the preparation and distribution of AMAP pouring packets for each trainee.Conduct a review of all submitted AMAP paperwork to ensure all certification requirements and documentation is complete.Revise and update existing AMAP training materials and evaluation tools as necessary.Conduct Tube Feeding classes on request including preparation of all documentation, as needed.Conduct AMAP training sessions for Adult Services Nurses on request, as needed.Co-chair the Safe Patient Handling Committee. Responsible for the dissemination, collection, review and documentation of annual Safe Patient Handling and Bed Assessments.Consult on Regulatory Affairs activities / surveys and investigations, as needed. Manage Center for Learning content on Microsoft Teams.Assist with general management of Center for Learning databases, including collecting and entering data related to department initiatives. Assist with management of Learning Management System.Administer Tuberculosis screening for New Hires. Plant, read and document TST testing.Conduct training agency-wide CPR/First Aid/AED certification courses.Requirements
Current New York State RN license.Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse in the field of Developmental Disabilities.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends on an as needed basis.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint at an intermediate level.Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, LITMOS and Eventbrite a plus.Ability to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift a minimum of 10 lbsObtain and maintain certifications as an instructor of American Heart Association CPR/First Aid/AED .Apply online at www.acld.org.
This is a full-time, 35 hours per week, position (Monday – Friday 9am – 5:00pm, occasional evening/weekend) located in Bethpage. It is eligible for medical/dental and has a generous paid-time off package.
