This nurse's primary role will be working in the Vascular Care Unit (VCU).  The VCU provides pre- and post-care for patients having cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and interventional radiology procedures and also provides procedural sedation for some bedside procedures. Additionally, the nurse will cross-train to care for patients having ultrasound and CT procedures. A strong nursing background in ICU, ED, telemetry or previous similar position is required. ACLS and BLS are required. Must be able to take call, approximately every 6th weekend with a one-hour response time. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

License: Current state of Illinois Registered Nurse license required. Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred. For hires or transfers on/after 8/1/2013, must attain a BSN within 5 years of hire/transfer date. Certifications: CPR required ACLS required. Specialty certification recommended after two years of experience in Vascular. Special Skills: Permission to give moderate sedation under the direct supervision of ordering physician Experience: Minimum of one year nursing experience preferred
