Registered Pharmacy Technician – Home Delivery Pharmacy

As a Home Delivery Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician, you will support the Home Delivery, Specialty and Adherence Pharmacies to ensure that high-risk patients receive their medications in a timely manner. The Administrative Campus is rapidly expanding with new automation being implemented, allowing the pharmacy to scale 1,500-5,000 prescriptions per day.
A caregiver in this position works 7:00am – 3:30pm or 9:30am – 6:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Follow established policies and procedures to support functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department.
Perform packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, inventory control, customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records.
Pursue completion of the Cleveland Clinic’s School of Pharmacy Technology program in the first 12 months of employment.
Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging and non-sterile compounding).
Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations.
Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.
Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.
Appropriately use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks.
Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program per the student handbook.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 18 months of hire preferred.
Recognized by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician. Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required within 18 months.
Obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 18 months.
Ability to perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds.
Basic computer skills.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Six months of hospital experience.
