NursingNurses are the heartbeat of a hospital, and we do our best to keep our nurses’ hearts beating happily and well. Part of this is the breadth of career options for nurses at Banner Health.
Women & Infants Services (WIS) is the largest department at Banner University Medical Center- Phoenix. Averaging approximately 6500 deliveries per year, this is a fast-paced environment. BUMC-P is accredited by the Arizona Perinatal Trust as a Level IV Perinatal Center which certifies that we are qualified to take care of the most high-risk patient population. The WIS department at BUMC-P is well known for our specialty programs including placenta accreta management, OB critical care, substance use disorder in pregnancy, and fetal therapies . At Banner University Medical Center- Phoenix we are a Magnet facility and the WIS department has been highlighted in many examples for our Magnet re-designations. As an academic medical center and magnet designated facility, we always have research studies running in our unit. Some of these are nurse driven and others by our OB residency program. We have a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist for Women and Infant Services who continuously looks into the latest research to bring evidenced based practice to our department. Every patient remembers in great detail their birth story and you have an opportunity to be part of making that a great experience that is unique for each patient!
This position is for a Full Time Night Shift Opening in Labor & Delivery! The hours will be from 7:00pm - 7:30am for 3 shifts per week which will include weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. You will have the opportunity to participate in our Nursing Clinical Ladder Program, utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage, and enjoy an 18%-night shift differential and a flat rate $3/hour weekend shift differential. Within the L&D unit we also have specialized roles that nurses can train for after 1-2 years of labor and delivery experience. These roles include the newborn delivery nurse and OB triage nurse.
