Short Description
Consistently demonstrates the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory care of all patients based on patients’ specific age group. Anticipates patient needs and consistently addresses patient concerns. Evaluates and reassesses interventions over time to assure best outcomes for the patients
Plans and implements non-standardized interventions, specifically individual exercise programs in accordance with AACVPR/AHA guidelines and physician recommendationsPlans for the patient discharge by working with the health care team to ensure timely dischargeAugments initial respiratory assessment data including biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and discharge planning factors with experimental knowledge to refine the individualized treatment plan.*Consistently documents patient evaluation, departmental data, goals, patient notes, individual treatment plan, outcomes, and patient exercise sessions in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracyObtains, compiles, interprets, and incorporates patient data into a monthly individualized treatment plan for the patient which reflects the full range of needs, including physical/functional, vocational, nutritional, psychosocial, and emotional and educational needsPerforms rapid observational assessment to determine changing priorities. Monitors patients, report inappropriate responses. Terminates exercise as needed. Updates staff/physicians using SBARRecognizes and utilizes the knowledge and expertise of colleagues, Identifies available resources for patients, and initiates referrals as appropriateExperience Required
At least two years of clinical respiratory therapy experience.The ability to logically and independently plan and organize work assignments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education Requirements
Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program
License/Certification Requirements
Proof of having passed the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).A current NJ license. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
