**RVT, Internal Medicine** **Location: Calgary, AB** **Calgary Animal Referral and Emergency (C.A.R.E.) Centre** , a member of **VCA Canada** , is currently welcoming a full-time, **one-year Contract Animal Health Technologist** in **Internal Medicine** to join our always-growing facility. The C.A.R.E. Centre is a fully functioning referral hospital, with board-certified specialists in a wide range of referral services including internal medicine, surgery, anesthesia, radiology, oncology, ophthalmology, neurology, critical care, cardiology, dermatology, emergency and dentistry/oral surgery. The C.A.R.E Centre is committed to supporting pet owners and the veterinary community by providing the highest level of animal emergency and referral care. + The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills. + Compassionate with the ability to adapt to the needs of the clients within the various services. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work well within a highly functioning team. + This person will be self-motivated to keep busy when not assigned to a specific department and expected to work in the ER when required. + Anesthesia training will be provided by our board-certified anesthesiologist, as well as training in all the specialty teams prior to the candidate starting full-time in the position. Duties will include: + Starting client appointments, + Collection and running or submitting of blood samples, and radiographs. + Monitoring sedated and anesthetized patients, as well as maintaining timely and accurate patient records. **Schedule:** The schedule for this position will be a 4 x10.5 hour shift over the Monday - Friday period. Additional after-hours anesthesia duties are required. Applicants must be registered with AHT and be eligible for registration with AAAHT/ABVMA in Alberta.
