**Job Description:**
Responsible for registering patients in multiple service lines all necessary demographic, financial, and clinical information from the patient or representative.
+ Verifies accuracy of EMPI link and identifies and reports possible Identity Theft.
+ Interacts with patient/representative to gather and/or verify needed registration information.
+ Inputs patient demographic, insurance, and essential admission information into a database for appropriate billing, reporting and analysis by facility, corporate, state and federal agencies to be performed.
+ Comprehends and provides explanation of legal documents in accordance to regulatory requirements.
+ Articulates billing process information and provides way-finding as needed.
+ Holds financial discussions with patients or representatives including insurance benefits, cost estimation, financial obligation, and identifying financial assistance needs.
+ Communicates effectively to patients and representatives regarding wait times.
+ Verifies Patient Identity and scans documents as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
+ One year customer service experience within the last five years.
+ One year negotiation or collection experience within the last three years.
+ Experience working effectively in time sensitive situations, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and able to make prompt, responsible decisions.
+ Experience in keyboarding and computer skills.
+ Demonstrated excellent interpersonal relations and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bi-lingual Spanish speaking.
+ Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
+ One year data entry or clerical experience in a medical office setting within the last three years.
**Physical Requirements:**
+ Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
+ Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
+ See and read computer monitors and documents.
+ Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$17.34 - $22.54
