Registrar - La Porte - Full Time, Days (2:30P-11:00P)

The Registrar is responsible for accurate data and cash collection and registration of all patients presenting for services. All duties and responsibilities are to be performed with outstanding customer service and registration accuracy for efficient billing processes. The Registrar is expected to work collaboratively with all external and internal customers to maintain a positive outcome for the organization.
**Experience:**
+ Computer knowledge and experience preferred
+ Office experience preferred
+ Insurance experience preferred
+ Previous customer service experience preferred
+ Experience in Cash Balancing/Cash functions role preferred.
+ Typing skill at 40 wpm preferred
**Duties:**
+ Interviews incoming patient or his/her representative to obtain required information for admission. Explains payment procedures and assists in collection of co-payment and deduction.
+ Assembles and identifies all forms for admission process with thorough explanation to the patient and obtains required signatures on appropriate forms for compliance.
+ Demonstrates competent knowledge of the registration process, scanning documents and positive patient identification system.
+ Must be competent in pre-registration of scheduled patients. 10-15 daily
+ Responsible for gathering accurate and complete information for the billing and collection process. Meet or exceed the registration accuracy of 96% or greater monthly and consistently.
+ Greets arriving patients/family and customers in a friendly and professional manner each time, as well as, protects patient and hospital confidentiality, at all times.
+ Follows the Cash Policy/Procedure and the requirements of compliance/guidelines. Monitors devices daily per protocol.
+ Follows IM, ABN and MSP procedures with All Medicare patients.
+ Answers the telephone within two rings, in a professional manner. Maintains a clean professional office environment.
+ Performs all duties and responsibilities with outstanding customer service always with a smile. Participates in mandatory staff meetings and educational offerings, timely.
+ Register/pre-register 25-30 patients, daily.
+ Flexible and will to adjust hours on demands of the organization/customer during special occasions, ED, Holidays, Mass Casualty, Downtime, etc.
**Requirements:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ Computer knowledge and experience. Office experience. 1 year of insurance experience helpful. 1-2 years of previous customer service experience preferred
