About the job:
The Registrar leads the oversight, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of student records and registration processes and services
+ Oversees all operations in the registration process (record creation and maintenance, course schedule building, classroom assignment, final exam scheduling, grade processing, transcript issuance, and student enrollment verification),
+ Oversees all transfer credit processes and posting of transfer credit (establishing and upholding transfer credit evaluation processes, evaluation of transcripts, posting of credit, processing and building of transfer credit rules and processes in the SMS. Collaborates with other areas involved with transcript evaluations.
+ Develops Academic Calendars, updating relevant student and public facing Records and Registration resources, updating and maintaining the College Catalog/Handbooks
+ Develops, evaluates, interprets and upholds departmental and College policies, procedures and strategies relative to the College’s mission and strategic priorities.
+ Establishes and maintains effective procedures for beginning and term processes (building of terms/subterms/sessions, assigning students, repeat/replace processing, academic action processes, communication with students relating to academic actions and President’s List processing).
+ Establishes effective and accurate record keeping processes for tracking curriculum changes, program approvals and key accreditation events as relevant to departmental processes.
+ Manages the fiscal affairs of the department, including budget development and priorities; exercises fiscal control over the approved budget and ensuring outcomes.
+ Directs the activities of the department colleagues; recommends colleagues for hiring/firing; supervises staff; holds accountability for training, mentoring and evaluation of performance; Maintains high standards of customer services and develops a system of staff accountability
+ Enforces the provision of the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and acts as the expert resource for FERPA compliance for the College; Provides guidance and consultation regarding all matters associated with effective records and registration management processes.
+ Enforces compliance with the Catalog/Handbook requirements as they pertain to the Registrar’s Office
+ Complies and stays current with relevant rules and regulations of regulatory and accrediting agencies ensuring practices and policies align with these standards; serves as a role model and mentor in regulatory and accreditation standards
+ Collaborates with the Director of Institutional Effectiveness regarding reporting for National Student Clearinghouse, IPEDS, Petersons and other required reporting.
+ Collaborates with program leaders regarding course scheduling/cancellations based on course enrollment
+ Establishes and maintains collaborative and effective relationships with a diverse group of leaders across colleges and universities and across MCCN as a foundation for driving effective departmental practices, process improvement and exceptional student experiences.
+ Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and policies consistent with the requirements and objectives of the organization for the administration of student records and registration services
+ Directs, oversees and advises course selection for degree progression. Conducts audits of student records.
+ Plans and coordinates commencement events; certifies all student record documents related to degree completion and produces diplomas.
+ Oversees publication of student/faculty handbooks and catalog. Oversees internal college event schedules and calendars
What we are looking for:
+ Education: Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree preferred
+ Licensure / Certification:
+ Experience: 7 years of relevant related work experience
+ Effective Communication, leadership and organizational skills
+ Coaches individuals and teams through goal setting processes
+ Models management practices and implements performance management processes with direct reports
+ Uses internal database management systems to locate and extract target information.
+ Identifies unusual variances in financial performance.
