Job Summary
The Trauma Registrar is responsible for the validity of all trauma registry information including the accurate identification of appropriate patients and all aspects of trauma coding. Assists with projects under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager that support education, research, and goals of the Trauma Program. Maintains compliance with all health systems policies and procedures.

Qualifications
0-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in trauma services, medical records, or data entry required and 1-2 years of experience with trauma registry databases (e.g., NTDB, TRACS, or similar systems) and familiarity with ICD coding preferredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent organizational skills; strong detail-orientation and follow-up capacity; ability to multitask. Demonstrated ability to nurture relationships. Ability to keep team focused on goals/timelines. Strong data analysis skills that require interpretation of clinical results to develop program improvement projects. Knowledge and use of medical terminology. Organized and detail-oriented. Knowledge of patient rights and laws relative to those rights, such as HIPAA Time management and organizational skills. Knowledge of trauma registry systems, TOPICS course, and ICD-10 coding.Licenses and Certifications
ATSRCB - Certified Trauma Registrar preferred
