The Role:
The Regulatory Accountant will be part of the EU Finance team and will play a key role in all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes as well as being the lead on ensuring all of the company’s financial regulatory reporting obligations are managed in an accurate and timely manner.
As part of the EU Finance team, the role will have a strong business facing presence, with ongoing interaction required with colleagues in the Group Finance, European Prudential Finance, EU Risk & Compliance and other operational teams.
As well as their key role as regulatory finance lead within the team, the role will also involve significant involvement in the day to day financial operations of the company including a variety of month end responsibilities, participation in the annual statutory audit and involvement in various tax, treasury commercial finance and project related tasks.
Some of the key tasks for which the Regulatory Accountant will be responsible for include:
Monitor key internal capital and liquidity metrics and develop appropriate forecasting metrics to ensure ongoing compliance
Preparation and management of external regulatory reporting to regulators.
Liaise with internal and external advisors to assess Finance impact of new regulations on capital, liquidity and reporting.
Provide support to ad-hoc projects.
Provide advice on regulatory (Capital and Liquidity) impacts on new deals/new products.
Liaise with colleagues in Group Treasury to ensure cash flow forecasting captures all regulatory and internal liquidity requirements.
Finance lead on annual ICAAP process.
Conduct reviews on the key financial risks.

The Person:
The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic record, the ability to work in a fast-moving-environment and the interpersonal skill required to interact regularly as a point of contact with both internal and external stakeholders. They will also:
Be a qualified accountant with a number of years’ experience working within a technical finance environment
Have excellent numerical and technical ability, with an ability to interrogate large amounts of data to present coherent outputs, using financial systems and MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Have experience working within the finance function of a regulated entity with requirements to prepare and file statutory and regulatory returns.
Have an excellent attention to detail and an ability and willingness to expand their knowledge through research and investigation.
Demonstrate experience in managing deliverables for multiple stakeholders both internally and externally.
Have the ability, confidence and desire to challenge and re-engineer practices and processes as required.
Be highly motivated with an ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate flexibility
Have a proven track record in working to tight timelines in a team environment.
