Summary Description:

The role of the Regulatory Affairs Analyst is to manage the execution of an optimized regulatory compliance strategy and process to ensure successful regulatory filings and product approvals support the R&D team whilst providing Refresco with adequate due diligence and a highly informative and proactive technical service to customers and consumers. On occasion the may require the review of incoming customer requests, alerts, technical policies and provides accurate and speedy responses The Regulatory Affairs Analyst will focus internally on our recipes, standards, artwork and technical documents and externally to customers and other technical bodies where appropriate, whilst contributing to the companies 4C’s strategy, and demonstrating the company values and behaviors.

Essential Job Functions:

Continual review of internet sources to keep Refresco at the forefront of information. Facilitate the legal internal process by audit that risk analysis techniques are in place to manage out errors and non-conformance to legislation. Manage the approval of recipes, pack copy and artwork to provide the business with legal due diligence compliance. Support the Quality & PD teams with advisory resource whenever required to resolve proactively potential consumer complaints. Check artwork daily for accuracy to meet the lead times of the launch process. Regularly communicate and visit external consultants to evaluate / audit technical advice – manage the technical service link with Leatherhead.

Required Skills and Competencies:

An effective understanding of Manufacturing technology and processes and the quality risks associated with an FMCG company. Competence & understanding of Food Safety Act , Food Labelling Regulations and in particular Soft Drinks Regulatory Guidelines Ability to understand the principles and processes of effective communication/presentation and when/how to apply them in all aspects of the role. High degree of integrity. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Decisive, pro-active and assertive. Internal & External customer obsessed. IT literate – Word, Excel and PowerPoint - Customer Website familiarity. Organized and self managed to achieve time limited goals. Understanding of internal and external customer relationships and able to manage these with diplomacy and effective communication at all levels, inside and outside of the business with experience of responding formally in writing to senior technical personnel on technical responses. Commercially astute with a professional approach.

Education and Experience:

BS in food science, nutrition, life sciences or related field or equivalent years of experience and training. 6 months to 1 year related experience/training or an equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands– Ability to stand, walk on concrete floors, metal platforms for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs several times a day. Visual/Sensory – This position requires attention to detail, requiring attention with one or two senses at a time. Work environment – Work and environment fasted paced, requiring ability to remain focused under pressure. Mental Stress- There is pronounced pressure from deadlines, production quotas, accuracy or similar demands.
