The Energy Center has more than 800 employees and contractors working at the facility, and it has established a strong record of safe operation throughout its 30-year operating history. The Energy Center is a highly efficient, low-cost, sustainable source of electricity for Ameren Missouri’s 1.2 million customers. **About The Position** The Supervising Engineer provides oversight of the activities of the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs engineers, and is responsible for the maintenance of a valid Operating License for Callaway Energy Center. **Key responsibilities include:** + Provide plant support in the area of licensing interpretation and defense of licensing positions with the NRC. + Review and approve all Significant Hazard Evaluations (reference 10CFR50.92) performed by Ameren. + Coordinate the preparation of submittals to change or amend the Callaway Energy Center Operating License/Technical Specifications. + Coordinate preparation of submittals or reports required by NRC regulations and the CEC Operating License. + Provide Regulatory Support Services to CEC and posture the organization to achieve excellent regulatory performance. + Ensure timely submittal of Licensee Event Reports and other periodic and special reports. + Provide guidance to the organization relative to compliance with NRC requirements, commitments, and the licensing basis. + Analyze issues/findings using the NRC Significance Determination Process and communicate this effectively to CEC staff. + Ensure proper handling of incoming correspondence related to NRC inspections. + Ensure proper close out of open event reports, inspection findings, violations and technical and non-technical regulatory issues. + Ensure responses are made to NRC Inspection Reports, violations, or other requests for information in a timely manner. + Establish the technical competence required for positions and evaluate the performance of personnel engaged in RA/Licensing activities. + Schedule work assignments of assigned personnel to ensure available personnel resources are commensurate with plant needs. + Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required RERP response time. **Qualifications** Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required. Five or more years of relevant engineering experience is required. Two or more years of experience with nuclear operations or licensing and regulatory requirements is required. **In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:** Good leadership, decision-making, communication and human relations skills are required. After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for additional selection procedures (e.g., interview) designated for this position. Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access. **Working Conditions** The Regulatory Affairs / Licensing Supervising Engineer works a standard day shift in an office/plant environment. Additional hours and/or rotating shifts may be required during refueling outages and emergent plant activities as the needs arise. **Additional Information** Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates. **Compensation Range:** $128,700.00 - $199,500.00 At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered.
