The Regulatory Affairs Manager manages the staff and daily activities of Regulatory Affairs, provides training, support, and guidance as it pertains to the overall functions of the Department. Assists the Director of Regulatory Affairs in developing and implementing Department procedures; actively maintaining open and efficient lines of communication among the Regulatory Agencies, the Regulatory Liaison and other applicable members of Executive Management; and with the coordination, collection and review of confidential documentation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage staff and ensure seamless coordination of all regulatory related activities.Assist Director of Regulatory Affairs with various activities tied to maintaining relationships with applicable regulatory agencies.Review and analyze relevant regulatory documentation, including, among other things, information requests or written correspondence and provide commentary, and/or input as necessary.Attends regulatory meetings and assists Director of Regulatory Affairs with coordinating open lines of communication and effectively disbursing relevant information to applicable members of management.Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.Analyzes and resolves problems pertaining to various aspects within the Regulatory Affairs Department.Responsible for talent management functions including: employment, performance evaluations, staff development/training, disciplinary actions, succession planning and ensuring all staff comply with compliance requirements.ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent)Minimum experience required: 7+ Years in a professional office setting, preferably in the Financial Services Industry, or regulatory banking environment.Preferred Qualifications:
Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) Degree in law, finance or business preferred.Experience preferable in the finance services or regulatory banking industries.Job Competencies:
Knowledge of Standard office practices and procedures.Excellent knowledge of the fundamental concepts in the assigned area.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.Good organizational and analytical skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines.Ability to maintain confidentiality.Flagstar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
