Regulatory Assurance Engineer/Specialist

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Responsible for implementing assigned regulatory programs and primary interface with the NRC at Palisades.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains the site licensing basis and implements regulations, such as 10CFR50.59 and 10CFR72.48. Prepares routine and special NRC correspondence, coordinates NRC visits and inspections, and interfaces with regional and national NRC offices. Examples of assigned duties include, but are not limited to:
Preparing and reviewing Licensee Event Reports, License Amendments, ASME Code Relief Requests, Generic Letter Responses, and Routine Reports. Coordinate the implementation of Licensing Actions Interfaces with industry representatives on behalf of station regulatory activities Coordinates station Safety Review Committee activities Maintain the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report Coordinates the Site Process Applicability Determination Program Interface with the NRC Resident inspectors and inspection teams. Manages NRC regulatory Commitments Submits performance indicator data to the NRCDevelops and revises procedures in accordance with current regulatory and administrative requirements
Additional assigned duties include participation in the shared resources program, serves as a member of the Emergency Response Organization, and member of site Cyber Security Assessment Team.
Desired Skills:
Ability to communicate technical information, concepts, and ideas verbally and in writing.
Proficiency in PC word processing and spreadsheet applications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
B.S. Degree in Engineering or other related science degree generally associated with power plant operations or equivalent experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
0 to 6 years commercial or military nuclear experience or equivalent related industry experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.
