**About the Callaway Energy Center**
The Callaway Energy Center is a nuclear facility located in mid-Missouri. The Energy Center has more than 800 employees and contractors working at the facility, and it has established a strong record of safe operation throughout its 30-year operating history. The Energy Center is a highly efficient, low-cost, sustainable source of electricity for Ameren Missouri’s 1.2 million customers.
**About The Position**
The Supervising Engineer Regulatory Initiatives plans, promotes, manages or supports the implementation of regulatory or plant initiatives and changes (including the development of programs as needed) that can be of significant cost or operational benefit to the plant or are required to comply with new regulations.
**Key responsibilities include:**
+ Lead a team of engineers to plan/schedule, coordinate, and support initiation/implementation of significant plant management and regulatory initiatives identified for the Callaway Energy Center, including the following:
+ Subsequent License Renewal (SLR) for extending expiration of the Callaway Operating Licensing from 2044 to 2064.
+ Power Uprate initiatives, including Margin Uncertainty Recapture (MUR).
+ Develop the means to implement and comply with regulatory changes that are required to be implemented at a programmatic level at the Callaway Energy Center. This may include, in some cases, coordinating with affected departments and stakeholders to develop an implementation plan, which includes identifying impacts to the plant and plant processes, identifying needed/affected procedures/procedure changes, and establishing responsibilities and ownership of the various aspects/elements of the program/plan.
+ Serve as budget coordinator/advisor for the department and for the regulatory/plant projects/initiatives coordinated by the Regulatory Initiatives group:
+ Assist the Manager, Regulatory Affairs in monitoring and maintaining costs within the department's budget and in reporting on the budget, including budget forecasts and allocations.
+ As the Regulatory Initiatives group performs its function for leading/supporting implementation of regulatory/plant initiatives, serve as a budget coordinator for those projects to ensure capital/O&M costs and labor are properly charged to the correct project/accounting codes.
+ Interface with contractors/vendors involved in the noted plant/regulatory initiatives, including initiating BOMs and POs needed to support contractor/vendor work.
+ Provide oversight of continued activities (or closeout of activities), including Aging Management Program issues, associated with License Renewal for the Callaway Energy Center.
+ Support and provide oversight of activities for implementing the 10 CFR 50.69 program at the Callaway Energy Center.
+ Represent Callaway Energy Center on related industry groups/committees such as the NEI task Force for License Renewal.
+ Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP), including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required RERP response time.
**Qualifications**
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required. Five or more years of relevant engineering experience requried. Experience and familiarity with nuclear power plant systems preferred. Experience with initiating/implementing plant license renewal activities also desired.
**In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:**
Effective leadership, decision-making, communication and human relations skills are required. After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for additional selection procedures (e.g., interview) designated for this position. Security screening required for Callaway Energy Center access.
**Working Conditions**
The Supervising Engineer, Regulatory Initiatives works a standard day shift in an office/plant environment.
**Additional Information**
Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
**Compensation Range:**
$128,700.00 - $199,500.00
At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
