Job Description:
The purpose of this position is to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in defining and refining the strategic vision for new grocery and liquor stores, while identifying necessary licenses and permits for new Publix locations. It involves managing the application process for these permits and licenses, offering expertise on their maintenance and renewal, and assisting with the corporate governance of Publix subsidiaries. Additionally, the role includes performing legal research and leading other legal, regulatory, and compliance projects for Publix as needed. This position will also manage talent, including hiring, mentoring, supervising, coaching, and providing daily operational guidance to direct reports.
In Publix's corporate offices, we value in-person interactions, similar to those our store associates have with customers. This is an in-office role located in our Lakeland, FL, corporate office.
What you’ll do:Lead and oversee cross-functional teams (e.g., Real Estate, Construction, Legal) and third parties (e.g., outside legal counsel) to define and refine the strategic vision for new Publix locations. Identify necessary licenses and permits, manage the license application process, and manage other legal, regulatory, and compliance projects, as needed.Effectively prepare, manage, maintain, distribute, and retain project documentation. Assist in managing the corporate governance of Publix subsidiaries (business entities).
