About the role
This role is part of an exciting team supporting our Beverages technology and food service business for sites based in Europe and markets such as MENAT and countries such as China, Japan etc.
Key responsibilitiesRegulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet market regulations primarily Europe, MENAT and on occasion other Global markets eg China, Japan, Australia. Review recipe compliance and labels for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer contexts. Compile compliant ingredient declarations. Proactive Partnership: Act as a proactive partner within development teams, providing regulatory guidance on ingredients, country restrictions, claims, and customer requirements. Recipe and Label Approval: Review and approve final recipes, generate product specifications, and ensure all testing parameters and allergen information are accurate. Approve business-to-business and business-to-consumer labels within specified service level agreements. Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. Attend regular customer and NPD calls, actively contributing to ensure timelines are met. Regulation Monitoring: Stay updated on upcoming regulation changes impacting the business area and key markets. Assess potential impacts and communicate these changes effectively to stakeholders and customers. Issue Management: Work closely with Global Business Services colleagues on customer queries, manage emerging issues, and handle first escalations. Serve as the point of contact for internal stakeholders as needed. Training and Support: Provide training and onboarding for regulatory colleagues and other functions as required. Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in a key are of regulations and champion that regulatory topic within the business. Trade association participation: Previous experience of trade association membership and development of relationships and advocacy within Business Strategy: Support the delivery of business strategy and growth plans in the beverage and foodservice business area. Assist in embedding the new regulatory operating model. Innovation and Ideation: Provide regulatory expertise during the development process, ensuring ingredients, claims, and certifications are compliant. External Engagement: Stay updated on industry regulations and trends, support trade association participation, and manage crisis situations and plant support as needed. Prepare external certification requests and complete strategic customer documentation. Qualifications and skills
Minimum of a Degree in Science, Food Science, or a Regulatory qualification. 5+ years of experience in a regulatory or scientific affairs role. Experience working with key global customers in the beverages and foodservice channels. Strong understanding of regulatory changes and their potential impacts on the business. Knowledge of SAP, Optiva and/or Salesforce would be advantageous. Language required is English, additional language would also be advantageous. Organisation skills and effective time management are key to this role.
