Mercy Medical Center a is looking for a Rehabilitation Outcomes Coordinator to join our Inpatient Rehab Team.

The Rehabilitation Outcomes Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the data collection on the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instruments (IRF-PAI). Responsible for ensuring the presence of supporting documentation to comply with CMS requirements.  Oversight of all the quality data collection and integration of outcomes information to ensure the most appropriate level of resources utilization and reimbursement.

What will you do: 

Obtains full Medicare reimbursement for the hospital under the prospective payment system by ensuring that quality service is provided in accordance with federal guidelines.Reviews medical record documentation and accurately encodes appropriate impairment group code (ICG) and ICD-10 diagnosis codes for etiologic diagnosis and comorbid conditions on the IRF-PAI in collaboration with the coding team and physician.Ensures utilization of outcome data to promote highest quality patient care.Functions as an effective member of the Rehabilitation Service line Quality and Outcomes Department.

Minimum Qualifications

RN, PT, OT, SLP - minimum baccalaureate degree required.Minimum five (5) years of experience in rehabilitation.Minimum two years’ experience in similar role.Solid understanding of the rehabilitation philosophy, process, and concepts.Knowledge of current general and rehabilitation healthcare trends and issues.Knowledge of principles of Medicare reimbursement, coding and classification systems.Excellent communication, interpersonal leadership, problem solving, time management and organizational skills.Ability to work independently, project a positive image, effect change, perform critical analysis and demonstrate high standard of professional contact.
