Job SummaryActs as a team member in the delivery of quality rehabilitation services under the supervision of a therapist. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Performs clerical, maintenance and cleaning duties related to the operation of the department. Provide support for unit based operations under the direct supervision of the Therapy Manager/Supervisor/Team Lead.Essential FunctionsAssists the therapist in provision of rehabilitation services under the direction of a therapist, consistent with department policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to such activities as hydrotherapy, casting / splinting, fabrication and modification of adaptive equipment, setting up augmentative equipment, positioning patients for treatment and gait treatment.Informs patients and significant others about treatments being received, equipment being used and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the therapist.Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones, scheduling patients, patient registration, processing physician orders, computer data entry/retrieval, completing forms, documenting communication / care and preparing patient charts. Demonstrates basic understanding of insurance information. Maintains inventory of materials, forms, and supplies according to departmental standard.Participates in selected department quality monitoring activities under the direction of the therapist.Schedules patients for revisits as instructed by the treating therapists.Cleans equipment/work area/patient’s environment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.Attends appropriate meetings and conferences, participates in staff meetings, in-service education programs and other support activities as directed.Provides transportation of the patient/client as needed using the employee's personal vehicle to community based resources related to patient/client's therapeutic goals (Home Care business lines/based on SH entity).QualificationsRequired High School Diploma or equivalent6 months of relevant experience PreferredSuccessful completion of competency based and on the job traning orientation program RequiredCRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required OrCRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days requiredLIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan SHCC - NRS - HC - RehabUpon Hire requiredHow Corewell Health cares for you
