Reinsurance Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Reinsurance Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. This role plays a critical part in supporting our growth-focused reinsurance division, working closely with the Reinsurance Accounting Team Leader to ensure the accurate accounting and administration of reinsurance agreements.

Your Impact:

Administer new and existing reinsurance agreements in line with treaty parameters, ensuring proper accounting treatment for all reinsurance transactionsPrepare, record, and reconcile journal entries for reinsurance activity, ensuring accuracy and compliance with treaty termsMaintain spreadsheets tracking treaty activity, including claims fund tracking and financial reportingPerform timely and accurate calculations, recording, reporting, and billing in accordance with reinsurance agreementsIdentify and resolve reconciliation issues related to reinsurance activities, coordinating corrective actions as neededManage client, reinsurer, and internal stakeholder communications, including collaboration with departments such as claims, actuarial, and financeEnsure the company meets all reinsurance agreement terms through proactive communication and oversightSupport audits by preparing relevant financial documentation and responding to audit queriesAssist the Reinsurance Accounting Supervisor in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of reinsurance accounting operations

Successful Candidates Will Have:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA or master’s degree is a plus; Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or reinsurance industry.Strong proficiency in Excel and experience using accounting software.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

At Risk Strategies Company, base pay is one part of our total compensation package, which also includes a comprehensive suite of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings, The total compensation for a position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. The expected base pay range for this position is between $60,000.00 - $70,000.00. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
