The Reinsurance Litigation Counsel will join the Legal and Compliance team in our Philadelphia, PA office!

Responsibilities: 

Manage reinsurance arbitrations, mediations and litigation (at the trial and appellate court levels). This includes: pre-dispute counseling; selection and supervision of outside counsel; review and edit of briefs and other written submissions; coordination of written discovery; preparation of company witnesses for deposition and trial testimony; and active oversight of and participation in hearings, trials, mediations and moot court sessions.  Coordinate dispute and litigation management with internal business partners to ensure consistency with business strategies. Communicate with senior management team on matters of significance.  Identify litigation trends and counsel business clients and other legal staff regarding opportunities to address those trends.  Minimum five years litigation experience with law firm and/or insurance company. Substantial experience drafting and editing briefs and memoranda. Excellent analytical and communication skills. Insurance/reinsurance knowledge and arbitration experience are a plus.

Educational and Professional requirements:

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school. Licensed to practice law in the U.S. Undergraduate degree from an accredited U.S. or foreign university or college.
