Relationship Manager - Italy Market

The Relationship Manager role is responsible for leading, acquiring and growing profitable long-term relationships with priority HSBC clients resident in particular Italy, focusing on UHNW clients.

The role holder is expected to have a very strong network of relationships and connections within the Italian market segment and capable of using such connections and network to attract new UHNW customers to HSBC.

The job holder will need to establish a holistic understanding of clients needs, operating with the top decision makers within the client organisation.

This role will deliver innovative high value solutions across all product lines, gaining significant business and sustainable returns for the wider Group and provide client leadership to teams to support and deliver the full services of the bank, and the Group’s, based on agreed client plan

The role holder will have client-facing responsibilities.

What you will do:

Maintain 'Trusted Advisor' relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients, with a proactive and regular calling programme with UHNW prospects and subsequently clients
Co-ordinate origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of Global Private Bank products/service globally and offer Group solutions as appropriate in conjunction with colleagues
Co-ordinate with investment advisors, credit specialists, wealth planners and product specialists
Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product sales and customer satisfaction
Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities ensuring the required KYC quality
Ensure pricing is aligned with bank value proposition and implemented correctly
Identify liquidity events and financing opportunities, including working with client’s professional advisors
Grow HSBC's share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements
Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved
Lead by example through financial results with excellent corporate behaviour
Provide assistance to fellow Relationship Managers
Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

Proven relationship management experience in the private banking sector or investment banking with UHNW segment clients, with significant experience in originating and serving Italy based UHNW clients and families.Proven track record in asset gathering, asset growth and revenue generationExcellent commercial and negotiation skillsHighly developed communication skills for use in direct client contact and problem solvingAbility to provide strong financial and statistical analysis.Strong customer service focusAttention to detail and the ability to think creatively to solve problemsExcellent understanding of financial markets and products Fluent in Italian and English; other languages relevant to the market(s) served would be an asset;Specific UHNW requirements:Significant network within the UHNW Italian market segment and capable of leveraging off Group capabilities to generate substantial New to Bank (NTB) business through that network;Strong knowledge and skill sets in understanding the different products an international bank can offer (not only standard private Banking investment products), which covers the UHNW needs of his private investments, business activities, wealth planning and all other aspects of the financial dealings and affairs a customer may require;Exceptional communication and listening skills to understand the environment of the customer in finding ways to assist the customer achieve his/her objectives. In other words, know how to gain customers confidence and be considered “the trusted advisor”.Have the skills of a project leader in bringing in the relevant experts to the customer where needed and ensuring the service provision is coordinated to achieve the best results to customers and the bank.
