We are in search of a Relay Settings and Automation Engineer to join our diverse and fast-paced Framingham MA, organization. As a core team member, you will be interacting with other electric utility disciplines, playing a valuable part in leading and designing Relay Settings and Automation projects. In this role, the qualified individual will be expected to:

Solving challenging substation engineering problems.Working with design engineers and performing quality reviews.Working directly with clients as well as working with other staff in remote office locations.Assignments will cover the full range of project planning through design and construction support.Configuration of IED and data concentrators for substation and distribution automations devices from 4.16kV through 500kV.Configuration of Communication for Ethernet and Serial communications in substations.

What you will bring to the table:

Mid-Level : B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering with (2+ years) of relevant experienceSenior Level : B.S. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering with (4+ years) of relevant experienceThe preferred candidate would have relevant experience Power System or Communication Engineering in high voltage electrical utility substation protection and control engineering and experience with:One and three-line diagrams for substationsExperience with communication devices HMI, SCADA and RTUExperience with implementation of different communication protocols (example: DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850 MMS and GOOSE)Control and protection schemes including the preparation of schematics and wiring diagram.Experienced with calculation of relay settings for microprocessor relays including SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB and others.

Nice to haves:

Some past experience of using ASPEN and CAPE for coordination studies and fault study analysis is a plusPrevious Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience is a plusAbility to meet deadlines under pressure situationsTeam player who can  work effectively in team environment;Self-starter who work independently with minimal directionStrong written and verbal communication skills required when interfacing with clients and staffHigh level of computer competencyExperience with AutoCAD or MicroStation is a plusPeriodic travel may be required.

Pay Range:Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00
