Role Description
The Release Engineer at FNZ plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful deployment and delivery of software releases across FNZ’s platforms. Working closely with Delivery, Quality Assurance, Service and Support and Infrastructure teams, the Release Engineer executes release activities and improves release processes and automation. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software releases to FNZ's clients.
Role Responsibilities
Execute software releases across FNZ's platforms, ensuring timely and successful deployments. Engage with Delivery, Quality Assurance, Service & Support, and Infrastructure teams to assist in fixing issues that arise during releases. Perform pre-deployment checks to ensure that correct information has been provided before commencing releases. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during deployment, working closely with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and impact. Add full and meaningful comments to Jira of fix outcomes, and solutions for future reference and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements in release processes and tooling. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Release Management. Collaborate with Senior Release Engineers and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and to identify individual training gaps and needs.Experience required
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or other Sciences or equivalent working experience. Intermediate SQL skills; · Interest / familiarity with financial markets and products beneficial but not essential;Passionate about providing an excellent service experience for our clients;Strong analytical thinking and keen attention to detail; Highly logical with proven problem-solving abilities; Independent, self directing and delivery focused working style; Excellent communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients; Able to take initiative learn quickly in a dynamic fast-paced industry; Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment; Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills. · Familiarity with Microsoft .NET technologies (e.g., C#, VB.NET, SQL Server) and build/release tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms is beneficial but not essentialAbout FNZ Culture
