Release Train Engineer
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a collaborative agile program leader to join our team as a Release Train Engineer (RTE). This person is a servant and strategic leader within the IT Project Management Office (PMO) organization. This role combines Agile leadership with Technical Program Management expertise to drive enterprise-scale delivery of technology initiatives. The RTE will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align roadmaps with business priorities, provide transparent executive-level status reporting, and coach delivery teams to achieve operational excellence. The RTE will be responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART) using various tools, will escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.

This position may be based remotely within the U.S. and requires 10% domestic travel.

RESPONSIBILITES:
* Manage Flow
- Drive relentless improvement in ART flow to ensure continuous delivery of valuable features to customers.
- Facilitate the removal of impediments as needed.
- Lead Value Stream Mapping to identify delays, reduce waste, and improve time-to-market.

* Facilitation and Coordination
- Facilitate PI Planning events.
- Coordinate and lead ART ceremonies, including Coach Sync, System Demos, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
- Design and deliver custom workshops.
- Provide SAFe training to teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the ART and across external teams.

* Leadership and Coaching
- Coach and mentor Scrum Masters/Team Coaches, Product Owners, and ART team members.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and agile best practices.
- Drive PI execution and ensure alignment with business objectives.

* Risk Management
- Identify and manage risks and dependencies across the ART.
- Escalate and track impediments for timely resolution.
- Ensure adherence to SAFe principles and practices.

* Metrics and Reporting
- Track and communicate key metrics to monitor ART performance.
- Analyze data to support decision-making and improvement initiatives.
- Provide regular progress, risk, and outcome updates to stakeholders.

* Collaboration and Communication
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including Product Management, Solution Architects, and Business Owners.
- Ensure transparency and alignment of priorities across the ART.
- Act as a liaison between the ART and other organizational units.

* Continuous Learning
- Stay current on Lean-Agile trends through books, podcasts, articles, and webinars.
- Keep up-to-date with SAFe training enablements and resources.
- Attend SAFe conferences and maintain proficiency with the latest Agile tools.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
* 5+ years of experience implementing Agile methodologies.
* SAFe Release Train Engineer.
* Strong technical background in information technology management.
* Proven leadership skills.
* Proven track-record of successfully leading PI planning, aligning teams, and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge and comprehension of Lean Agile frameworks and principles and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
* Experience in organizing, directing, and managing activities related to building and maintaining software releases.
* Knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies.
* Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in English.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

PREFERRED:
* SAFe PRACTICE CONSULTANT (SPC).
* SAFe Scrum Master Certification.
* Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
* Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery strategies.
* Experience working in a fully-remote environment.
* Experience working with non-profit organizations.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate’s qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance. For work locations in the US, the hiring range for this position is $119,510-140,600 per year.
