The Hartford’s Middle and Large Commercial (MLC) IT Team is seeking a highly motivated experienced IT Leader who is responsible for leading teams to successfully deliver MLC’s Product and Underwriting transformation program, develop our talent, and propel our agile transformation. 

The IT Delivery Lead will be accountable for planning, organizing, and executing initiatives that deliver technology solutions for MLC’s transformation program. The leader needs to understand business strategies and align them to continually evolve the technology roadmap in a Scaled Agile delivery model. The role will lead an Agile Release Train to deliver capabilities that drive business value, in collaboration with architecture, and other shared technology services.  The primary responsibilities of the position are the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strong technology, delivery experience with large and transformational programs, specifically with SAFE Agile execution and building strong partnerships with Product Management and influencing the focus on business valueDemonstrated experience in maturing DevOps, Cloud, improving automation and focus on building high performing teams that can build/maintain with a software engineering focus (CICD, Automation Testing, SDETs, Blue Green Deployments, Feature Toggling)Develops workforce strategies to hire and build high performing teams through coaching, mentoring; Manages sourcing partner teams effectivelyOverall responsibility for the execution using Agile approach and for a part of the MLC IT portfolio Value StreamExcellent analytical, problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to identify challenges, and risks and proactively mitigate and manage the executionExcellent communication skills to interact with Values Stream Leads across business, technology and partner organizations (Solution Architect, Solution Manager, and Solution Train Engineer)Ability to scale and lead applications maintenance portfolio along with cross functional operations leadership skillsStrong financial management skills – ability to lead Scrum Teams through Agile sizing approaches and provide transparency to Product ownership

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of IT leadership experience executing large scale programs and change management.Proven track record as a results-oriented IT leader that collaborates well with business leaders and manages business outcomes.Deep knowledge of technology, software Engineering, and experience in Scaled Agile methodology requiredStrong understanding of business strategy and aligning technology roadmaps to businessStrong people leadership abilities with skills in coaching and mentoring talentAbility to successfully work across all levels of the organization, including interacting with senior managementProven ability to manage complex vendor relationships and experience working with an offshore delivery modelStrong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills,  and thorough attention to detailProven Leadership through IT Transformations in building, managing and scaling teams to deliver outcomes

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) from Hartford, CT. or Charlotte, NC.

 

Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$136,800 - $205,200
