Position Summary:

This position supports the Reliability and Performance Supervisor in monitoring, evaluating and recommending improvements in thermal performance of the plant, in close coordination with O&M departments such as Operations, Maintenance and Asset and Project Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Routinely produces root-cause analysis reports, responding to requests regarding reliability for major power plant equipment. Identifies and monitors key reliability risks and executing mitigation strategies. Applies condition monitoring systems to ensure asset integrity and longevity. Investigates plant failure and maintenance to ensure defect elimination. Interprets the historic performance information in the preparation of business cases for APM team to develop strategic plans in asset managing activities. Analyzes failure trends to resolve performance disruptions. Manages technical queries, registers and correspondence. Supports the development of workflows within the control room to optimize total site performance through the use of standard site operations. Monitors, analyzes and reports overall plan performance (heat rate) as well as the performance of individual equipment and subsystems (eg. Boilers, turbines, condensers, FW heaters). Guides and assists the Maintenance and Operation departments to effect improvements in plant performance and efficiency. Performs inspections and condition assessments of major power plant components to identify potential availability losses and recommend appropriate corrective action. Works with power plant personnel in developing a proactive culture by using condition monitoring functionality to optimize preventative maintenance scheduling. Prepares data for SHE regarding plant parameters and consumption. Provides data and analysis of the Topographic surveys (TOPO) of Coal Dome to fuel management and NAC-Accounting.
