Job Title: Reliability Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a high-level Reliability Engineering Consultant with experience in regulated industries such as automotive, aerospace, or medical devices. This is a full-time consulting engagement expected to last 6–8 months.
Responsibilities
+ Coach the team on evaluating and improving the reliability of an electromechanical hand piece.
+ Help the team understand and apply concepts like Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), and Bathtub Curve analysis.
+ Assess whether the team has the right data, what additional data is needed, and whether accelerated testing is required.
+ Recommend medium-level design changes to improve reliability, avoiding full redesigns.
+ Guide Return on Investment (ROI) analysis for potential design improvements.
Essential Skills
+ Reliability engineering expertise.
+ Failure analysis proficiency.
+ Experience with electromechanical products.
+ 3+ years of recent experience in MTBF, MTTF, and Bathtub Curve analysis.
+ 5+ years of experience as a Reliability Engineer in a regulated environment.
+ 2+ years of experience with electromechanical products.
Work Environment
The consultant will need to be onsite to kick things off and periodically throughout the project. The work involves a regulated environment, requiring precision and attention to detail. The team is already aware of the five components most prone to failure and is focused on proactively addressing reliability as product usage increases.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $110.00/hr.
