Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Performing reliability analysis of accelerated stress data, deriving both acceleration factors and reliability distributions Providing instructions for technicians and operators for performing reliability stresses and tests in the reliability lab Communication with management and customers regarding reliability data Develop and oversee execution of qualification plans for new products and technologies Oversee life testing -- applying stresses of high temperature, high humidity or temperature cycling – and conducting electrical and optical testing Write travelers for the experiments, coordinate the necessary test resources, and assure that experiments are executed in timely fashion. Make minor modifications to test and measurement set-ups as needed. Perform hands-on measurements of optoelectronic devices and train others to perform these measurements. Perform statistical and reliability analysis of data, including time-trending of data, comparisons of means and distributions, estimate confidence limits, estimate reliability including FIT values Determine which samples require physical failure analysis (FA). Coordinate FA, obtain results, and interpret their significance to the related experiments. Complete the qualification and reliability studies, reach accurate conclusions and disseminate the results Publish Qualification Test Reports (QTR’s) – tabulate and graph data, summarize results, obtain reviews, disseminate results Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations.Education & Experience
3+ years of relevant experience in these areas: Statistical analysis of data Planning & execution of physical experiments and analysis of results Development & engineering of semiconductor optoelectronic devices B.S. or M.S. in Physics, Engineering, Statistics or Applied Mathematics.Skills
Reliability Analysis and Modelling Statistical analysis of data (MS Excel, JMP) JMP scripting SQL queries Running multiple experiments Design of Experiments (DOE’s) Work on multiple projects, plan own work and drive to meet strict deadlines. Positive interpersonal skills necessary to support cross-functional teams. Strong technical (written and verbal) communication skills required. Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills. Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.Working Conditions

Work in a class 100/1000 clean room for extended periods Wear full cleanroom attire (smock, mask, etc.) Work with and/or around chemicals (such as solids and acids) Stand for up to 4 hours at a time Lift up to 16-30 Pounds Push/Pull up to 16-30 pounds Sit for up to 4 hours at a timeSafety Requirements
