What You'll Do:
As a Reliability Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, improving the operational reliability of the various manufacturing areas at the Avon Lake facility, drives equipment reliability improvement by analyzing performance data to prioritize, identify and eliminate causes of equipment failures You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. With emphasis on mechanical systems initially, all equipment types that require reliability improvement are considered. The Reliability Engineer utilizes cross functional teams as technical resources to develop reliability improvement solutions.
What We're Looking For:
Transform area from a reactive maintenance culture to a preventative maintenance culture. Manage the preventive maintenance (PM) program for rotating equipment. Implement and coordinate the utilization of Predictive Maintenance technologies such as vibration, oil, infrared and ultra-sound analysis Manage the PSM Mechanical Integrity program: Retention of required maintenance records; evaluate fitness for service following UT inspections on tanks, heat exchangers and piping. Review compliance of designated PSM preventative maintenance tasks and ensure required deferrals are submitted and approved for those PM tasks that will not be completed on time. Lead root cause investigations to improve compliance where needed. Assist with development of definitions & tracking of Key Performance Indicators for site equipment, provide reports to support equipment performance analyses. Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventative actions. Develop maintenance repair procedures and arrange for craftsmen training as needed. Develop engineering solutions to maintenance problems, including ways of reducing or eliminating the need for maintenance through equipment replacement or improvement work. Provide input to project teams regarding ease of maintenance, materials of construction, and equipment selection. Assist operations with efforts to use operators/supervisors to set up and monitor routine equipment checks (seal levels, oil levels, etc.) Document methods and measurements to support Operator maintenance efforts. Coordinates with plant and production engineers in analyzing equipment maintenance problems, project work and determining solutions. Mechanical Technical resource for Maintenance and Facilities department. Limited travel for training/meetings and equipment supplier visits may be required.
Skills That Make a Difference:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering. Experience in evaluating tank, piping and heat exchanger condition in accordance with ASME, API or STI standards. Experience in performing pump and system curve calculations and evaluation. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven ability to drive organizational change. High energy, "shop floor" personality that promotes mutual respect with the craftsmen. Experience that includes: reliability analysis of some or all of the following chemical plant equipment: pumps, fans, blowers, agitators, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, extruders, boilers, air compressors, mechanical seals, bearings and gears, mixer rotors and shafts, screeners, screw feeders. Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on excel data manipulation. extracting and analyzing performance data from a CMMS. leading cross functional teams toward equipment improvement targets
Considered a Plus:
Previous experience with maintenance scheduling or planning in a production environment Experience with the engineering and construction process and/or project management. Experience with Delta V and SAP.
