Reliability Engineer
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Corporate Director of Reliability, the Corporate Reliability Engineer will be responsible for partnering with the plant maintenance leadership teams to establish a continuous improvement culture in maintenance. The position provides support, coaching, training and development of asset care practices within the organization. This asset care program should result in sustained proactive planned maintenance that enables positive results in equipment availability, performance, uptime, cost and utilization. Additionally, this position will work closely with other departments, such as Continuous Improvement, Procurement, Finance, CAPEX Engineering, etc. at our plant locations to advance the Maintenance Reliability Journey. This is a unique opportunity to help build a Reliability Organization in a large multi-location food manufacturing organization with exposure to many different types of manufacturing equipment

Job Description:

Position Responsibilities:  

Drive Improvement initiatives by partnering with plant and corporate teams to ensure improvement in equipment uptime and OEE, while reducing annual direct manufacturing expenses.Develop effective utilization of condition monitoring and other non-destructive testing methodologies (i.e. vibration, thermal imaging, oil analysis, ultrasound, etc.) designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.Perform and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Preventive Maintenance Optimization for critical equipment and FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) for unreliable assets based on economic evaluation.Develop and conduct precision maintenance training for mechanics, operators and other trainers (train the trainer).  This will include the development of training materials and the scope of training.Support development, initiation, deployment, tracking, and monitoring of maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs).Deliver technical support to the Engineering Department on the selection of new equipment based on industry codes, standards, required maintenance and best practices.Train and coach others to build organizational self-sufficiency with continuous improvement methods and tools.Create enhancements to existing improvement tools and develop novel approaches to problems.Participate and lead team reflections, maturity evaluations, and assessment activities.Develop reporting for various stakeholders. Run reports tracking the continuous improvement of the Maintenance processes at both the plant and corporate level, oversee accuracy of data by enforcing standards in system use and reporting.Perform other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications and Requirements:  

7-10 years progressive experience in Maintenance & Reliability.Experience in a CMMS environment required, experience with SAP PM S4/Hana preferred.Knowledge and understanding of predictive technologies for rotating equipment evaluations.Knowledge of precision maintenance techniques and tools (i.e. laser coupling alignment, sheave alignment, belt tensioning, etc.)RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and RCFA Methodology practitioner.  With the ability to identify the causal factors for component, equipment or system failures. Must have applied knowledge of RCM practices.Experience in training, coaching, and leading groups.Ability to operate both tactically and strategically. Strong situational leadership skills to influence all levels of the organization.Capable of building strong relationships with Operations leaders to effect change.Elevated level of credibility and influence among hourly associates at the manufacturing sites.Must have a bias for action and a record of accomplishment in delivering results.Self-starter to lead change and make independent and informed decisions. Personal traits - progressive, adaptable, flexible, high-energy, mature, strong interpersonal skills, analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills to assess needs, understand issues, and identify improvement opportunities.Able to design, develop, and deploy improvement strategies that support Winland Foods and site strategic objectives. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to organize and effectively present information to all levels of the organization.Strong computer skills and excellent use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook).Ability to travel (up to 50%)

Education: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Management or a minimum of 10 years of progressively more senior experience in Maintenance & Reliability roles.
