Position Description
Kinder Morgan is currently seeking a Reliability Engineer to support the KM Asset Management Program . Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Actively develop/evergreen Maintenance and Reliability strategies, plans, and processes that support and assure compliance to all company policies and procedures.
+ Implement corporate reliability improvement initiatives such as RCM, RCA’s, FMEA’s, MTBF, Vibrations Analysis, etc.
+ Ownership of the KM ITPM(Inspection, Testing, Preventive Maintenance) Plan to optimize PM and PdM frequencies.
+ Evaluate rotating equipment problems and conduct root cause failure analysis investigations on failed equipment, develop action plans to eliminate repeat failures, and implement corrective actions, as necessary.
+ Work with operations to identify key areas for reliability improvements and develop reliability KPI’s to drive higher asset availability.
+ Provide technical support for capital projects with engineering expertise for specification, design, and construction of projects in accordance with company requirements, industry standards and regulatory codes.
+ Contribute to the effective use of CMMS(Maximo) software to improve rotating equipment availability.
+ Provide technical support for Federal, State, and internal audits.
+ Work with company and non-company personnel, take direction from manager(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to work schedules.
+ Promote open, ethical, and continuous communication between various departments, customers, and personnel.
+ Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
+ Business travel outside your responsible area may be required and could be up to 20% of time.
This position may be located at the Kinder Morgan Denver West or Colorado Springs office in Colorado or corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas.
Position Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar technical degree.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience with rotating equipment in petroleum, natural gas, or petrochemical industry required; 7 years+ preferred.
+ Familiarity and understanding of the OSHA 1910.119 PSM and EPA 29 CFR Part 68 Risk Management Standards with emphasis on Mechanical Integrity requirements.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications, Microsoft Outlook, and CMMS software.
+ Strong presentation and report writing skills.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with a diverse range of personnel with varying disciplines, backgrounds, and experience levels.
+ Strong customer focus in dealing with Project Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Operations, Contractors, Suppliers, and other internal and external groups.
+ Ability to develop, read, and interpret mechanical blueprints and diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, and Piping and Instrument Drawings (P&ID’s).
+ Candidate should be knowledgeable reliability best practices/methodologies.
The above statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed. This position may perform other duties as assigned. Position may be filled at various levels depending on experience and job skills of the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Pay range is $110,400 - $187,200 per year. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill sets.
