We are seeking a highly motivated, technically talented individual, who has a true desire to lead in a dynamic operations environment to support the Asheville maintenance department (MTS) as a Reliability Engineer. In this role you will be providing maintenance reliability and coordination in the Coatings Business Unit.

What You Will Do:

Lead the development and execution of equipment reliability strategies for ceramic coating production assets.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on critical equipment failures; drive permanent corrective actions and long-term performance improvements.Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to support asset design improvements and maintenance-friendly modifications.Optimize and oversee predictive maintenance (PdM) programs including vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and other condition monitoring technologies specific to high-temperature environments.Champion reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive maintenance (PM) programs, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with production goals.Monitor and report on key reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, and OEE to identify trends and areas for improvement.Provide technical leadership and mentoring to maintenance technicians and junior engineers in reliability principles and troubleshooting techniques.Manage critical spare parts strategy, failure data analysis, and lifecycle planning for production assets.Support compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, ensuring that reliability practices enhance operational safety.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor’s degree Engineering or related technical discipline with 8 years work experience or advanced degree with 5 years work experience.7+ years of experience in maintenance or reliability engineering, with at least 3 years in a ceramic coating or high-temperature manufacturing environment.Demonstrated expertise in RCM, FMEA, RCA methodologies and CORE operating toolsProficient in using a CMMS to analyze maintenance history and optimize work plans.Proven track record of implementing predictive maintenance programs and delivering measurable reliability improvements.Ability to work in a plant setting with rotating equipment, elevated temperatures, and industrial safety standards.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Leader (CRL).Experience with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.Experience with SCADA, PLC interfaces, and industrial automation in EBPVD.Ability to plan projects and to craft clear written/verbal/analytical/org skills to influence business objectives.

•    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
