About the Position:
The Reliability Engineering Lead is a supervisory position in Chevron�s ENGINE Center providing reliability expertise to Chevron�s operational refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facilities. This role works collaboratively across multiple layers of the organization, with multi-discipline teams from Engineering, Operations, Maintenance and Reliability. The focus of this role is to provide the right leadership to improve asset performance and operational availability through teamwork, analytical tools, and application of Chevron�s Facilities Integrity and Reliability Management (FIRM) work processes.
Key responsibilities:
Provide leadership and supervise Reliability Engineers, Materials Engineers, Risk-based Inspection Engineers and Asset Strategy Coordinators
Provide visible and active leadership to shape and strengthen the assets� reliability and integrity programs, projects, processes and efforts; this includes leading the improvement of equipment reliability, mechanical availability, and operational availability while also reducing the risk of process safety incidents
Promote a continuous improvement mindset while removing barriers and seeking simple, fit-for-purpose solutions
Maintain, develop, and report appropriate key performance indicators which provide insight into the effectiveness of reliability and integrity programs across the Chevron assets
Provide work direction, coaching, training, feedback, and professional development for Reliability and Integrity Technical Teams
Ensure that team and individual deliverables are understood, performance expectations are clear, and that progress is measured and reported
Accountable for coaching and developing competence in these programs for the Fixed Equipment Integrity and Reliability team members
Ensure compliance with applicable industry codes and standards as well as applicable Chevron standards, instructions, and guidelines
Ensure failures are investigated, root causes established, and sustainable corrective actions are implemented
prioritize work and ensure the team is adequately resourced to meet deliverables
Provide input into Turnaround planning by optimizing inspection intervals (utilizing Risk Based Inspection when necessary), supporting optimization of turnaround timing, providing turnaround scope input to minimize scope growth during events, challenging scope using proven methods & tools
Work collaboratively with multiple groups across the supported assets to ensure the technical resources are available and resourced. Develop appropriate competency to address emerging mechanical integrity and reliability priorities
Required qualification:
Bachelor�s degree in mechanical or materials engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
Minimum of 8 -15 years cross-functional experience in a refinery or complex process facility
Demonstrated supervisory experience will be highly regarded
