Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines:  Reliability System Safety and Supportability. Raytheon has an exciting Reliability / Systems Engineer position working for Self-Protect Systems (SPS) at our Raytheon Goleta, CA facility located near beautiful Santa Barbara, California.

What You Will Do:

In this role, you’ll use your engineering skills and knowledge in the following areas:

Performing systems engineering tasks associated with the reliability, maintainability, supportability, and FRACAS (Failure Review & Corrective Action System) of military systems

Analyzing engineering drawings, influencing product maintainability design decisions, and helping to ensure system design meets operational requirements.

Learning the theory behind how electronic warfare systems work and influence system design and development

As part of the systems engineering team supporting the design of new systems, you’ll work with experienced Reliability engineers to learn all areas and work products within the Life Cycle Engineering discipline

You’ll work both independently and as part of a team in setting objectives for meeting work goals on a variety of projects

Reliability engineering tasks such as reliability modeling, allocation and prediction, and parts stress and derating analysis

Independently performing FRACAS processes, FMECA, Failure Diagnosis and Data/Trend Analysis, and Reliability Demonstration Testing on multiple programs

Position may require occasional CONUS (domestic) travel. (Approximately 10%)

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 2 years of Engineering experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field

Experience with Reliability, Systems or Safety Engineering

Experience gathering and / or analyzing data

Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience developing Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability predictions for military systems

Experience developing failure reporting and corrective action reports

Experience using reliability modeling software

Experience developing System Safety plans and Hazard Analysis Reports

Excellent communications, organizational, and customer interface skills

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
