Job Title: Relief Care Worker

Fixed Term Contract, 6 months, variable hours/week

Location: Cavan Supported Accommodation, Cootehill, Cavan

 

About the Role: 

To facilitate a service user focused service to adults with varying disabilities & complex health needs that include, Intellectual Disability, Epilepsy and Diabetes.

Your Responsibilities: 

Promote and actively involved in teamwork, creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the service user. Facilitate and implement a person centered service appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of service users. Provide personal assistance in all aspects of personal care and manual handling, ensuring comfort and hygiene of service users and adhering to safe practice and risk assessments at all times. Understanding, knowledge and experience of working with clients with disability and be able to maintain a high standard of care in line with RehabCare’s policy and procedures while ensuring that HIQA standards and regulations are maintained within the service. Working in a residential/respite care setting. Providing appropriate supports to service users with relevant disability and whose behaviour may challenge. Facilitating and implementing a person-centred plan. Support of independent living skills and community integration for persons with relevant disability. Ensure safe transportation of clients, by adhering to policy and procedure and the use of all safety equipment as appropriate. Assist with catering, cleaning, general domestic duties and the documentation of information within the service as deemed necessary.

 

Additional Requirements: 

QQI Level 5 in Health & Social Care Candidates should have an understanding, knowledge and experience of working with clients with disability and be able to maintain a high standard of care in line with RehabCare’s policy and procedures while ensuring that HIQA standards and regulations are maintained within the service. Candidates should have experience of working in a residential/respite care setting. Full clean driving licence.

 

If applicable, candidates will need to provide a police certificate for any country they've lived in before moving to Ireland
