Relief Cleaning Manager/Camp Attendant - 12 month maternity leave

The Relief Cleaning Manager oversees general housekeeping, linen cleaning, and maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within all living units. Responsible for supervising Camp Attendants and Janitors, this role ensures that all workloads are effectively managed, and duties are completed on schedule. 

 

This position follows a 17-day on/11-day off rotation, with six days dedicated to camp attendant duties and eleven days as relief cleaning manager. 

 

Position Overview: 

Provide leadership, supervision, training, coaching, and support to Camp Attendants and Janitors.  Effectively delegate tasks and ensure duties are completed in a timely and efficient manner.  Input payroll daily to ensure hours for each employee are correct.   Assign daily workloads according to the linen tracker.  Update linen tracker daily.    Review and monitor daily schedules to maintain effective coverage for workload completion.  Maintain clear communication and coordination with the Front Desk and camp managers.  Address and resolve guest concerns promptly.  Conduct weekly and monthly inventories to ensure sufficient housekeeping supplies and place orders as needed.  Perform daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and exterior lodge spaces.  Ensure compliance with lodge standards, including Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.  Lead daily Toolbox Safety meetings focused on relevant housekeeping safety topics and worker safety goals.  Assist Cleaning Manager in evaluating employee performance with clear and constructive feedback.  Support operational requirements by performing housekeeping duties as needed.  Other duties as assigned. 

 

Housekeeping Duties: 

Clean guest units to maintain a fresh environment, including changing and making beds, distributing clean towels, and replenishing toiletries.  Assist with laundry by washing, drying, and folding linens and towels.  Dust and vacuum furniture and drapes, sweep and mop floors, and empty trash.  Adhere to safety protocols and Health and Safety policies. 

 

Qualifications: 

Experience in a remote camp environment is an asset.  2+ years in a housekeeping role and 2–3 years in a supervisory role required for Head Camp Attendants.  Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Teams, Excel, and Outlook.
