VCA West Coast Specialty & Emergency Animal Hospital is seeking relief Credentialed Veterinary Technician to work in our 24/7 emergency/multi-specialty practice in Fountain Valley, California.

Compensation :

Credentialed Veterinary Technicians : $ 26.50 - $ 32.00 / hr

ALL dependent on education, experience, credentials, location, nature of practice, schedule and additional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with physical examinations and collecting patient historiesStrong communication skills and the ability to compassionately interact and educate clients.Managing medical records, reports and correspondenceAssist veterinarians during procedures, including patient monitoring, anesthesia administration, and surgical instrument preparationMonitoring general anesthesia plays an important role in this position. This includes heart rate, end-tidal carbon dioxide, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature.Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status, taking appropriate action to ensure patient safety.Accurately document anesthesia protocols, patient information, and vital signs.Maintain detailed records of medications administered and any complications or issues encountered during procedures.Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of anesthesia during proceduresFlexibility in scheduling and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure a safe and sterile surgical environment

Collaboration:

Work closely with doctors and team members to coordinate and optimize patient care.Communicate effectively with the team regarding anesthesia concerns and patient status.

Qualifications:

Current and valid Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) licenseKnowledge of anatomy, physiology, and common conditions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.Knowledge and experience with handling and administering different drugs and following safety protocols.
