The St. Paul Park Refinery has an opening for a Laboratory Technician. This position is a full-time, non-exempt, and part of the union. The work schedule follows a 12-hour rotating shift pattern on days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Overtime may also be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Testing of refining feedstock and intermediates to assist with daily refinery operations.Finished product testing to ensure compliance with industry standard specifics.Data interpretation and reportingApplication of QA/QC protocols to ensure high data accuracy.Basic instrumentation troubleshootingExecuting work in a safe and environmentally responsible mannerEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or science equivalent with four college chemistry courses and two college chemistry labs is required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)Strong analytical chemistry skills with emphasis on modern instrumental analysis (GC, UV/Vis, NIR, IC, DSR).Working knowledge and application of wet chemistry.Ability to follow procedures outlined by ASTM, AASHTO, EPA, and UOP.Extensive experience utilizing PCs and MS Office Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook).Ability to work 12hr. rotating shifts (both days and nights).A valid Driver's License is required.A Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required upon hire.Two years of experience with laboratories in an industrial setting is preferred.Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) experience is preferred.As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
