Summary:
The Garyville Refinery is in search of a highly motivated Relief Systems Engineer to support our ongoing effort to ensure relief systems are adequate for the operation of our world-class assets. This position reports to a Process Optimization & Growth Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide oversight for work processes that govern design, modification, and documentation of relief systems.
Must have the ability to interpret company and industry standards (MPC standard practices, API, ASME, etc.).
Manage relief system unit revalidations by working with company SMEs, consultancy groups, and site personnel.
Manage action plans for relief system findings and deficiencies identified by project teams, PHAs, incidents, PSM rate increases, etc.
Support MPC Application Standard evaluations to include project development.
Support refinery revamp project teams to determine relief system scope and impact on flare systems.
Manage hydraulic evaluations and flare knock-out drum sizing evaluations for stick and ground flares.
Manage Garyville relief system process safety information (PSI).
Education and Experience:
Education Level: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university required.
Relevant Experience Level: 5+ years of relevant industry experience as a relief systems engineer or process engineer preferred.
Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
