The Remanufacturing Service Technician will disassemble, assemble, clean, requalify, and rework operations on locomotive traction motor combo components utilizing manual and automated equipment in accordance with safe manufacturing and quality procedures. In this role you will inspect, repair, and test completed locomotive traction motor combo components.
3rd Shift works 9:30pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday
Essential Responsibilities:
Support and perform work in compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulationsProvide support for manufacturing or remanufacturing of UX Traction Motor Combo components for the facilityUtilize manual and automated production equipment, various hydraulic, or pneumatic tools for completion of responsibilities in accordance with in-house manufacturing and quality procedures to ensure all products meet specified requirementsInspect work components to internal inspection criteria for compliance to quality and engineering requirements utilizing fixtures, precision measuring devices, and / or testing protocolsDisassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairsReassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairsSign off on process documentation for each of the work steps performedProcess components in compliance with internal processing requirementsMaintain acceptable defect ratesOperate both fork trucks and overhead cranes per OSHA guidelinesAid in the training of other employees on new or existing proceduresWork and cooperate well on a team to meet objectivesAssist in the development of processes to improve product quality and production efficiencyRepair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipmentReassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairsProcess components in compliance with internal processing requirementsWork to improve 5S within work cell using continuous improvement and kaizen toolsPerform any additional duties as assigned by the Flow Leader, Team Lead, or any member of the management teamQualifications/Requirements:
High School Diploma / GEDA minimum of 1 year of related experience in a manufacturing environmentDesired Characteristics:
Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent Technical School certificationExperience with analytical testingKnowledge of EHS procedures and policiesAbility to regularly lift and handle tools and materials up to 50 poundsAbility to use manual equipment and hand tools safelyWorking knowledge of inspection measurement equipmentUnderstanding of manufacturing and quality procedures in a lean manufacturing environmentPrior fork truck and overhead crane experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively on a teamExcellent customer service skillsWabtec Corporation is committed to taking on the world’s toughest challenges.
